Hello! My name is Christy, and I’m 18 years old. I’m currently in my first year at the University at Western Ontario. Yes, that’s right, I’m Canadian!
It was the end of January when I suddenly realized that I had no idea what to do for my Spring Break which was about a month away. I knew I didn’t want to sit around on my butt at home all spring break long, and although I did want to go somewhere hot and go surfing, it wasn’t really practical to get away for such a short amount of time. A short visit to Google later and I found the perfect program. ASB Detroit – It was close to London, Ontario yet still in a whole other country and I would be able to volunteer for a worthy cause and make a difference in the world. I am so excited to meet and get to know everyone else!

Too often, all we hear about are the drunken students causing Richmond Row mayhem at bar closing time or at Fanshawe-neighbourhood house parties. It's nice to be reminded that there are students of conscience that we can be proud of. Thanks for being a London ambassador Christy! :)
