This is why.

Question: Why ASB Detroit?
Simple answer: I want to.
Complex answer: I need to.
Hardcore answer: "oh baby. oh baby."

:P juuuust kidding.... about the oh baby, oh baby part, that is. (<---10 Things I Hate About You *anyone??*)

annnyyyyways...

My reason for participating in ASB Detroit, is that I have volunteered in walks for MS and Breast Cancer, I've worked Special Olympics, donated to many causes, and have worked at soup kitchens..., but never have I actually had the chance to really do something for the betterment of MY community. This is MY home, this is MY generation, and this is MY decision. Working in Detroit gives me a chance to finally give back to MY community, and I couldn't ask for a better way to do that than hands-on during MY spring break. Now I don't want to seem like this experience is meant to be all about ME and making ME feel better about MYself... I simply wish to emphasize the fact that it takes an individual to realize they have the potential to make a difference, before that difference can be made. An individual must step up and state their claim that this is their time to do something worthwhile, because WE won't be around forever. This is OUR chance to band together and state OUR claim; This is OUR time to make a difference. So let's do it already!!

Have an UH-MAIZE-ING week everyone!! :D
